On 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month, 2:00 P.M. join with family history friends for 20 to 30 minutes to ask questions, suggest classes or programs or to just say “hi”. We will invite special guests from our area from time to time.
We are pleased to be joining the Muskogee County Genealogical Society this month. This event will take the place of regularly scheduled TGS November program.
Maureen Taylor, the Photo Detective will be the featured speaker. Maureen is a well known consultant and seminar leader who helps people rediscover their family history one picture as a time and encourages additional research if needed. Maureen has been classified to be the Nation’s Foremost Photo Detective. She starts by studying the clues within the photo – a hairstyle, a piece of their clothing, or an obscure item in the background. She takes those clues and parlays them along with other factors, location geography and family history documents. It will astonish you what she reveals through her efforts. And once the story emerges, she shares how to present and preserve it for your descendants.
On the 2nd Tuesday of each month, 7 P.M., Join Annette Corbell, our TGS Researcher, as she fields your questions regarding Family History Research. She will help to break through brick walls, find those female ancestors who seemingly are lost and help with court and land records; She will give us hints and tricks to help with your organization of your information as well as share ways to avoid those shiny objects. All participants are invited to attend and share with each other, no matter your level of expertise.
