TGS Field Trip: Guthrie

TGS Field Trip: Guthrie

Tulsa Genealogical Society Board Members are sponsoring a road trip to Guthrie OK to visit the Oklahoma Territorial Museum. Area societies are invited to join TGS in this outing.

Trip logistics and times are coordinated by Annette Corbell and Dorothy Becknell.

Carpools are planned and will be gathering in the south Tulsa area. Participants are to arrive at 7:45 A.M. June 18th, in the Hardesty Public Library Parking Lot, (8316 E 93rd St, Tulsa, OK).
Please RSVP to be included in a ride and get a head count. Let us know if you want to drive.

The plan is to leave the area around 8 A.M. If anyone would rather drive yourself, the goal is to arrive @ 10 A.M. in Guthrie at the Museum (406 E Oklahoma Ave). Lunch expenses and museum fees are on your own. There is a (Senior) $5 fee for the museum if you’d like to browse the exhibits. (No guided tour). Following lunch, all are invited to attend the LCGS (Logan County Genealogical Society) meeting at 1 P.M. featuring speaker Robert G. Davis.

April 22, 1889 was Guthrie’s birthday! On that day, as settlers arrived, participating in the Land Run of 1889. Today, Guthrie is a National Historic Landmark and is the largest contiguous Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places.

We won’t be walking to Guthrie like in April 22,1889 as the photo shows.

Please RSVP by Wednesday, June 15
